Description
This copy of the only known photo ofJohn Mason was probably taken as a promotional piece for the Consolidated Fruit Jar Co. upon having been assigned his rights to his famous 1858 patent so they could request an extension of seven years and presumably hold off the competition of competing glass houses. They failed in this effort as John L. Mason went off and sold his rights multiple times to unsuspecting companies. The president of CFJCo. described Mr. Mason in very harsh language as a result of this business betrayal. The original photo is Circa 1872.
The 8” by 10” contemporary copy is laminated front and back with a heavy plastic protective film. As a result it is suitable for display with or without additional framing.
A complementary copy will be included in any of my book orders. .00 free
