Description
This is a wonderful 60s era wedding dress featuring a very modern form, simple with clean lines. The dress is made with a “jewel” neckline and long sleeves.
It has an empire waist, delineated by a panel that is decorated with rhinestones and cording.
The dress is made in an ankle length and has a longer train that is attached at the back under the waistline panel.
The dress does up with a metal zipper at the back and ten covered buttons with loops along the top back.
The cuffs closes with similar buttons.
The dress is unlined.
Age: 1960s
Label: No maker’s label
Color: White
Material:
A twill fabric that looks to me to be a polyester blend, but I’m not sure.
Good weight and appearance.
Sizing: No size is indicated, but it should fit an extra small size (note that it was too small for my mannequin, so I couldn’t button the back) - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders:
14” across seam to seam
Sleeves:
20 1/2” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve inseam:
15 3/4”
Bust: 31” around, taken at the armpits
Waist: 25” around
Hips: 36” approximate - meant to fall loosely
Overall length: 52" at the front/66” at the back including the train
Condition: It is in very clean condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors. There is one rhinestone missing and there are some snaps on the interior neckline, so I guess that there had been a collar that would attach there, but is missing.
Otherwise, this dress looks like it saw one use and was well cared for over the years.
This is a wonderful 60s era wedding dress - modern style that would still work today without anyone knowing that it is a vintage dress!
