Vintage Authentic 1948 SILK SATIN, Cotton Velvet & LACE Wedding Gown 4 Pc ~ S/XS
This was my aunts wedding dress from 1948, hand made by her mother.
It includes:
1-Rayon Strapless Slip,
1-Silk Satin full under skirt
1-Cotton Velvet Strapless bodice with Cotton Lace
1-Green Silk Wristlets with Pearl beaded Edges
Gorgeous gown with app. 5-6+ yards of hand made cotton lace, and app. 5-6+ yards
of silk satin for the underskirt, plus the rayon slip. The upper bodice is lined
and beautifully finished velvet piping.
Both the bodice and slip are structured with boning to the waist.
The fabric is very solid and crisp. Aside from needing the zipper and the need for
some creative draping or re-working it's in Good Condition
considering it's age.
Freshly laundered.
The cotton Bodice with Lace needs a new zipper and has some light tea colored stains
at the front hip/waist area, and a couple of darker marks at the very bottom of the lace skirt -
- they may come out with some soaking. There are lots of creative ways to re-work this
dress so that the stains don't show ~ lots of yards of gorgeous lace and silk fabric.
The lace and satin are gorgeous, and the silk wristlets with their pearls add a delicate effect.
